FIDM MUSEUM....."The Masked Singer" Costume Designer Event: RECAP!

Last week, there was a wonderful event with FIDM Alumna and FOX TV Show "The Masked Singer" Costume Designer Marina Toybina at FIDM Museum adjacent to the FIDM Museum Shop. "The Masked Singer" involves celebrities singing  The event featured Toybina in a Q & A, where she discussed her career trajectory and behind-the-scenes stories on working in the industry as a costume designer as well as a stylist. FIDM students and instructors alike, enjoyed a lovely evening with Marina Toybina, getting a "sneak peak" into her work on the new FOX TV show "The Masked Singer" as well as a rare look at one of the costumes from the show that she designed.

Marina has costumed shows such as "World of Dance" (Seasons 1-2), "So You Think You Can Dance" (Seasons 10-14), "The X Factor" (Seasons 1-3), and even the Super Bowl LXIX Katy Perry Halftime Show (Costume Designer for the Dancers), and she has styled celebrities like Carrie Underwood.

             **CHANCE TO WIN A $5,000 FIDM SCHOLARSHIP Courtesy of FOX!!!!**

The Q&A event also marked the announcement of an exciting contest for FIDM Students to celebrate the premiere of "The Masked Singer". Students on all four FIDM campuses are invited to submit an original, fully-rendered hand illustration of their personal costume design by Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. The winning sketch will be featured on "The Masked Singer's" social accounts on the day of the show's premiere on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 9/8c on FOX and the winning student will receive a $5,000 scholarship courtesy of FOX. 

Sketches may be submitted to the Reception Desk on each campus.
